“They won’t be starting from scratch. In the past, they have maintained lists of potential managers to approach if their current boss leaves, so they will be at least partially prepared for Maresca’s potential move to Stamford Bridge. As a Premier League club, City should be an attractive side to join. However, some managers may be deterred by the looming points deduction and ongoing difficulties with profit and sustainability rules, which could result in a quiet summer transfer window.”
Graham Potter: Since the City team believed they could lose Brendan Rodgers, Potter has been a favorite behind closed doors.
